Thirteenth Annual Workshop on Immigrant Languages in the Americas
WILA 13 Poster Guidelines
November 10–12, 2022
hosted by University of Wisconsin-Madison
hosted by University of Wisconsin-Madison
Due to the hybrid format of this year's workshop, we request that all poster presentations be designed as slides rather than printed posters or large pdfs. We are asking all poster presenters to create (1) a slideshow containing a maximum of 8 slides and (2) to pre-record a short 5-minute presentation of their study. We recommend designing your slides based on the typical sections included on a large format poster, using one slide per section. When designing your slides, please keep in mind that they will be viewed online for our virtual participants and viewed on a laptop screen for our on-site participants.
We request that all presenters upload the 5-minute video of their study and an accompanying pdf of their slides to this google drive by Wednesday, November 9. Our poster session will be mainly Q&A. Therefore, we are requesting participants to view the poster talks ahead of each poster session.
On-site, at Union South, we will have a separate room for our poster presentations. In the room, there will be stations set up at tables. If you are attending in person, you will need to bring your own laptop from which to stream your poster-presentation on Zoom. If you are presenting your poster virtually, you will also have a station in the room equipped with a laptop and an on-site assistant to help with the technical aspects of your poster presentation. You will have your own assigned Zoom meeting room in which you will share your slides using the screen-sharing feature of Zoom. Attendees to poster sessions will be able to either walk around the room to the different poster stations or attend online via Zoom.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding preparation for your poster presentation, please contact us.
